Some good vocations news from the Church in Ireland

The Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCD's) recently celebrated two first professions in Oxford for the Anglo-Irish Province on December 10th.

The Redemptorist's recently celebrated the ordination of a new priest Fr Derek Ryan on 9th December 2011.

The Franciscans celebrated the first profession of Friar Feidhlim Ó Seasnáin on 15th December 2011.

The Irish Dominican family have begun a Prayer Initiative for Vocations to all branches of the Dominican Family which begins on January 15th 2012.

January 15th is the feast of St Ita, co-patron of the Diocese of Limerick who was known as the Foster Mother of the Saints of Ireland, may St Ita intercede for the initiative and for all vocations to the priestly and religious life.
